One method, countless flavor combos...

Chicken wings make for a fun mealtime, especially when you get creative with the seasonings. Our cooking method promises a crispy exterior and fall off the bone, tender interior for the perfect bite. Everyone in the family can join in on creating their perfect chicken wing flavor.

Ingredients

4 pounds chicken wings

1.5 cups water

Vegetable Oil if frying, or oil of choice for broiling

1/4 cup cornstarch

Spiva Cooking Seasonings-

     Garlic Herb

     Salt and Vinegar

3TB fresh grated Parmesan cheese (for Garlic Herb variation)

Procedure

1. Place chicken wings and water in pressure cooker on high setting for 15 minutes.  Allow them to continue to cook in the pressure cooker for the depressurization process.

2. Place the cooked chicken wings on a cooling rack in the refrigerator for 2 hours so the skin and exterior begins to dry.

For the fried method:

  1.  Heat vegetable oil in a large, heavy bottomed pot to 375-400 degrees F.
  2. Meanwhile, coat the wings with cornstarch and fry in batches for 3 minutes or until golden brown. Allow the oil to return to 375-400 before frying the next batch.
  3.  Remove the wings from the oil with a slotted spoon and season each batch with the different seasonings or with your favorite wing sauce.

For the broiled method:

  1. Preheat the oven broiler setting to low.
  2. Toss the chicken wings with your prefered oil.
  3. Place the chicken wings on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper so they do not overlap.
  4. Broil the chicken wings until golden on one side, about 3 minutes or so, before flipping.
  5. Broil the opposite side of the chicken wings for another 3 minutes or so, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove wings from the oven and immediately  coat with the seasonings of your choice.
