Mulled Apple Pear Cider and Mulled Wine

Two delicious mulled winter drinks from our kitchen to yours- a sure fire way to bring all the cozies to your home during the holiday season and beyond.

Ingredients

Apple Pear Cider

4 large in season apples (or 6-7 small), peeled and chopped

1 large pear, peeled and chopped

1/2 cup coconut sugar

1 tsp citric acid

2 TB Spiva Cooking Mulling Spice

Mulled Wine

4 cups apple cider (from above recipe or purchased)

1 bottle Cabernet Sauvignon red wine

1/2 orange, sliced

1/2 lemon, sliced

2 TB Spiva Cooking Mulling Spice

1/4 cup honey

Procedure

For the Apple Pear Cider:

  1.  Blend the apples, pears, coconut sugar, and citric acid until smooth.
  2. Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a medium pot. Add in the water and the Spiva Cooking mulling spices.
  3. Bring the liquid to a simmer and allow to cook and steep for 30 minutes. 
  4. Meanwhile, warm your desired serving mugs with hot water.
  5. Strain the cider once more and then ladle into warmed mugs.
For the Mulled Wine:
  1. Add the apple cider, mulling spice, and honey to a medium sized pot and simmer for 20 minutes.
  2. Add the wine, orange slices, and lemon slices and simmer for an additional 20 minutes before serving.
  3. Strain the mulled wine and serve.
