Mulled Apple Pear Cider and Mulled Wine

Two delicious mulled winter drinks from our kitchen to yours- a sure fire way to bring all the cozies to your home during the holiday season and beyond.
Ingredients
Apple Pear Cider
4 large in season apples (or 6-7 small), peeled and chopped
1 large pear, peeled and chopped
1/2 cup coconut sugar
1 tsp citric acid
2 TB Spiva Cooking Mulling Spice
Mulled Wine
4 cups apple cider (from above recipe or purchased)
1 bottle Cabernet Sauvignon red wine
1/2 orange, sliced
1/2 lemon, sliced
2 TB Spiva Cooking Mulling Spice
1/4 cup honey
Procedure
For the Apple Pear Cider:
- Blend the apples, pears, coconut sugar, and citric acid until smooth.
- Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a medium pot. Add in the water and the Spiva Cooking mulling spices.
- Bring the liquid to a simmer and allow to cook and steep for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, warm your desired serving mugs with hot water.
- Strain the cider once more and then ladle into warmed mugs.
For the Mulled Wine:
- Add the apple cider, mulling spice, and honey to a medium sized pot and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Add the wine, orange slices, and lemon slices and simmer for an additional 20 minutes before serving.
- Strain the mulled wine and serve.
